The Distinguished Lecturer Program is an important feature of UFFC-S. At the September meeting of AdCom, the number of Distinguished Lecturers was increased, with overlapping terms, by one. The UFFC-S Distinguished Lecturers are:

July 1, 2014 through December 31, 2015.
“Innovation Drives Quality: New Generation of High Resolution Ultrasonic Imaging Technology for Material Characterization and NDT in Advanced Automotive Manufacturing"

Susan Trolier-McKinstry (Pennsylvania State University, USA)
January 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016.
"Piezoelectric Films for Microelectromechanical Systems"

Patrizia Tavella (Istituto Nazionale Ricerca Metrologica INRIM, Italy)
July 1, 2015 through December 31, 2016.
"Precise Time Scales and Navigation Systems, the Ultimate Challenge to Time Metrology"

The Distinguished Lecturer is selected not only because of personal stature and contribution to a field, but also because of broad knowledge of the field. Each lecturer presents lectures all over the world at institutions and places of interest to her/him and her/his research. Groups desiring to invite a lecturer should either contact the lecturer directly (maev@uwindsor.ca, STMcKinstry@psu.edu and, tavella@inrim.it respectively) or write to Bernhard Tittmann, Vice-Chair of the Awards Committee.
