Multimedia Prize Paper Award The Multimedia Prize Paper Award is an annual award for an original paper in the field of multimedia published in the IEEE Transactions on Multimedia in the previous two calendar years. Authors of a single paper cannot receive the Multimedia Prize Paper Award in two consecutive years. The prize shall be a plaque and an honorarium of up to $500 per author. The total honorarium is not to exceed $1000. In the event that there are more than two authors, the maximum prize shall be divided equally among all authors and each shall receive a plaque. The basis for judging is the composite of: originality, utility, timeliness, and clarity of presentation. Under normal circumstances, the Multimedia Prize Paper Award will be presented annually at the International Conference on Multimedia and Expo (ICME) by the General Chair of the conference, in the name of the four sponsoring societies. An award may not be given if a paper of high quality is not uncovered.
Nomination Information The nomination period for the IEEE Transactions on Multimedia 2008 Prize Paper Award is open until 4 May 2008. Any paper published in the IEEE Transactions on Multimedia during 2005, 2006, or 2007 is eligible. Nominations should include:
Judging shall be on the bases of general quality, originality, subject matter, and timeliness. The winner will be announced at the 2008 IEEE International Conference on Multimedia & Expo (ICME 2008) in June.
