Author posting of accepted versions of their papers

The IEEE Intellectual Property Rights Office recently announced a revised IEEE Copyright Form. It includes important policy changes approved by the IEEE Publication Services and Products Board (PSPB) in November 2010. In particular, Section 8.1.9 of the IEEE PSPB Operations Manual now more clearly defines which versions of authors’ papers are available for their own reuse.

The changes bring IEEE policy up to date with current practices of other scientific and technical publishers. It now better clarifies authors’ rights in regards to posting accepted papers on their personal Web sites and institutions’ servers.
