UFFC Distinguished Lecturers
by Takaaki Tsurumi and Roman Maev

The Distinguished Lecturer Program is an important feature of UFFC. A Distinguished Lecturer is chosen at each Fall AdCom meeting to serve an 18-month period beginning on July 1 of the following year. There are, at present, two UFFC Distinguished Lecturers:

Takaaki Tsurumi (Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan)
July 1, 2013 through December 31, 2014.
"Frequency and Field-intensity Dependence of Dielectric and Piezoelectric Responses of Oxide Ferroelectrics"

Roman Maev (University of Windsor, Canada)
July 1, 2014 through December 31, 2015.
Innovation Drives Quality: New Generation of High Resolution Ultrasonic Imaging Technology for Material Characterization and NDT in Advanced Automotive Manufacturing

The Distinguished Lecturer is selected not only because of personal stature and contribution to a field, but also because of broad knowledge of the field. Each lecturer presents lectures all over the world at institutions and places of interest to her/him and her/his research. Groups desiring to invite a lecturer should either contact the lecturer directly (ttsurumi1196@gmail.com and maev@uwindsor.ca, respectively) or write to Bernhard Tittmann, Vice-Chair of the Awards Committee.
