3. Awards and Honors
The plenary and award sessions of IFCS-EFTF were held on the morning on the last day (July 25) of the joint symposia. The Distinguish Service Award was presented to Michael Driscoll for his contributions both on technical aspects and as leader for numerous programs. The plenary talk of IFCS-EFTF was given by Daniel Kleppner (MIT-Harvard Centre for Ultracold Atoms).

Distinguished Service Award winner– Michael Driscoll.

The W. G. Cady Award is to recognize outstanding contributions related to the fields of piezoelectric or other classical frequency control, selection and measurement; and resonant sensor devices. The 2013 Cady award was presented to David Howe “For the analysis, design, and development of low noise, vibration-immune, and frequency stable frequency control devices.”

     The Rabi Award is to recognize outstanding contributions related to the fields of atomic and molecular frequency standards, and time transfer and dissemination. The 2013 Rabi award was presented to Judah Levine "For outstanding contributions to the field of precise time keeping and time transfer, including pioneering research and development of GNSS time transfer, network time services, and the design of better time scales."
     The C. B. Sawyer Memorial Award is to recognize entrepreneurship or leadership in the frequency control community; or outstanding contributions in the development, production or characterization of resonator materials or structures. The 2103 Sawyer award was presented to Lute Maleki "For his outstanding leadership and entrepreneurship in the founding of OEwaves, and for his many contributions to the frequency control community."
