6. Ferroelectrics Committee Meeting
The Ferroelectrics Standing Committee (FerroCom) met during the ISAF to discuss items relating to the organization of the group as well as organization of future meetings. A proposal for ISAF 2016 to be hosted at University of Darmstadt, Germany was presented by Kyle Weber for Jurgen Roedel. A proposal for ISAF 2017 to be hosted in Atlanta, USA was presented by Nazanin Bassiri-Gharb. Kui Yai presented an overview and status update on the 2015 ISAF to be held in Singapore.

Susan Trolier-McKinstry provided an update on the status of the ISAF 2014. The 2014 Joint IEEE International Symposium on the Applications of Ferroelectric, International Workshop on Acoustic Transduction Materials and Devices & Workshop on Piezoresponse Force Microscopy (ISAF/IWATMD/PFM) will be held in State College, PA (USA), May 12 through 16, 2014. The conference will cover a wide range of topics around ferroelectric & piezoelectric materials and their applications as piezoelectrics, pyroelectrics, electro-optics, capacitors, and memory devices. The synergy that will result from co-hosting ISAF/PFM and IWATMD will enable participants from industry, national laboratories, and academia to gather in a highly interactive environment for technical exchange.
Tutorials will be held on May 12, 2014 covering a wide range of topics including, the fundamentals of ferroelectrics, an introduction to Piezoresponse Force Microscopy, transducer fundamentals, and piezoelectric materials for acoustic transducers.
