Software Engineering Body of Knowledge (SWEBOK)

SWEBOKThe Guide to the Software Engineering Body of Knowledge (SWEBOK Guide) describes generally accepted knowledge about software engineering. Its 15 knowledge areas (KAs) summarize the concepts and include a reference list pointing to more detailed information. SWEBOK v 3.0 has been reviewed by approximately 150 reviewers in 33 countries.

SWEBOKThe SWEBOK guide is created, developed, and reviewed by leading subject matter experts globally. SWEBOK is widely accepted and practiced in India, the USA, Europe, and Japan by both industry and academia. Many universities and colleges have adopted SWEBOK and blended learning content into their software engineering curriculum. The adoption of SWEBOK at universities and colleges helps to prepare the students for the IT industry.

SWEBOK has identified 15 knowledge areas that all software engineers must know. IEEE Computer Society has created three programs to support the learning of these knowledge areas at different levels.  All three programs cover 15 knowledge areas, but at varied details. The 15 knowledge areas are grouped into four modules to ease the study of undergraduate students.
