Informing Public Policy, IEEE Computer Society Technical Community on
The IEEE Computer Society Special Technical Community on Informing Public Policy in the US (STCIPPUS) acts as a bridge between several existing organizations. IEEE-USA is the IEEE organization with the responsibility for representing the interests of IEEE in the processes of the US government. The Computer Society is the organization with technical programs related to computing. The purpose of STCIPPUS is to provide a connection between the two organizations. Members can provide analysis skills that will benefit IEEE-USA in representing CS members and can provide support to positions that have been developed. There are two main goals:
- Determining interests of CS members in public issues that might be pursued by IEEE-USA
- Providing technical analysis and support for initiatives being pursued by IEEE-USA
